About
Iβm a born and raised Texan (and yes, the Texas pride runs deep). As a kid, I was absolutely terrified to sing in front of anyone, including my family. I always loved music, but was way too shy to ever think I could share a song in public. By the time I got to middle school, I began writing songs as a natural way of processing life. I knew even then that I needed to write songs about Jesus and continued to do so as a private worship time throughout college.
In 2014, my whole world seemed to fall apart. While navigating an unexpected road of divorce as a young adult, my dad passed suddenly in an accident. I found myself in a place of so much hurt, confusion, and pain, but the Lord never left me. He called me to write more songs to process the hurt and through that I found so much healing over time.
I continued writing and keeping the songs to myself until I felt led to share them with friends in church. Though I was reluctant to share so much in a vulnerable way, God continued leading me through it. While on a mission trip to Vietnam, He told me to release some of the music that I had written. On that same trip, I found my producer and began working on production as soon as we returned.
After releasing my first single, Seek First the Kingdom, in 2019, it broke the iTunes top 100 chart in Christian/Gospel music- something I never dreamed of. Shortly after, I felt called to move to Nashville- another thing that terrified me, but He continued to show me to have faith in the process. Shortly after moving, I released my debut EP, Healing, and shared the testimony of all that God did during the hardest time in my life.
Here in Franklin, TN, I continue writing for other artists in multiple genres, along with writing for my own project and look forward to releasing new singles this year. Itβs wild to look back and see what God has already done.
Crazier to know that Heβs not finished yet. π€
